Document Legalisation
We assist with:
- Police clearances
- Attestations
- Apostilles
- Supporting documentation preparation
Accuracy and compliance are critical when dealing with international authorities. We ensure documentation is aligned with the relevant submission standards.
For countries in the Hague Convention. A single certificate that authenticates your document for international use.
For countries outside the Convention. Full embassy authentication, often with several steps before submission.
Why Correct Legalisation Matters
Documents intended for use in another country usually need to be authenticated before they are accepted. Depending on the destination, this may mean an apostille or full embassy attestation. We help you identify which process applies to your documents and prepare them to the correct standard.

Apostille cost, answered honestly
The most common question we get is what an apostille costs and how long it takes. Here are the straight answers.
How much does a DIRCO apostille cost in South Africa?
Your apostille cost is a single professional service fee that covers preparing your documents, submitting them correctly and collecting them, so they are accepted the first time. As registered DIRCO agents, we handle the whole process on your behalf and avoid the delays and rejections that are common on the direct route. We confirm your fee upfront when you enquire, based on the documents and the turnaround you need.
How long does a DIRCO apostille take?
As registered DIRCO agents, we process apostilles in around one week, compared with 8 to 12 weeks in DIRCO's direct public queue. For notarised or private documents, a High Court apostille takes about 2 to 3 working days. We advise the fastest correct route for your specific documents.
Do I need an apostille or embassy attestation?
It depends on your destination. If the country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, a single apostille is all you need. If it is not a member, such as the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait, your document needs full embassy attestation, which involves several steps. We confirm which process applies to your destination before we start.
Which documents can be apostilled?
Government-issued documents such as birth, marriage and death certificates and police clearances are apostilled by DIRCO. Notarised and private documents, including qualifications and company documents, go through the High Court. Since September 2024, DIRCO requires original unabridged certificates for Home Affairs documents, which we can obtain on your behalf if you do not have them.
